....I go pick up Claire from preschool today, the teacher tells me Claire kind of got in trouble today. She slapped a boy in the face while they were playing outside, leaving a huge red mark and the boy crying. She said that she thought they were just all playing and it got a little out of hand. When she asked Claire, Claire said "I was just playing, I am sorry". Her teacher was fine and just told Claire to be more careful next time.
On the way home...
Me: "Claire did you hit a boy today at school?"
Claire: "Yes"
Me: "What happened?"
Claire: "We were just playing outside and I hit him!"
Me: "Claire, you know better than that. You cannot hit people, that is not nice. You would not want someone to hit you."
Claire: "I know Mama, but my brain just told me to do it and I could not stop it."
Me: (laughing under my breath) "Well you need to learn to tell your brain no when it wants you to do mean things."
Claire: "I know, but it is really hard to stop, I am really smart."
Just the third day of school....=)
