Top 10 Updates

Holla blogga folks!  How are yall?  I hate that I am behind.  I cannot make the time I need to to blog, but I want to.  Trust me I will figure it out....hopefully before Bree starts school :)...

So I am behind and to make this fun - let's have a Top 10 if you will...Rachel's Top 10 to get her blog caught up...in no particular order...
  1. Shane surprised me with an iPad last week!! WOO to the HOO!!  I whined enough about wanting my own (he got one with his new job) that he finally got me one.  I love it because I can keep caught up on twitter and facebook and of course all the blogs.  I am still trying to figure out the easiest way to blog from it....any advice out there?  Blogpress?  Of course I have pretty iPad sticker on it's way from Erin Condren :)
  2. It is 2 months until Christmas and I am over 90% complete with all my shopping!! I feel like I am in the twilight zone.  I am the busiest I have ever been in my life, yet I am the most organized.  I have ordered everything online and most of the gifts were great deals and personalized.  My goal is to get as much done as possible prior to the season and be able to really enjoy it with the family.  I don't have as much time as I used to so I want to spend it enjoying the holidays rather than stressed.  All I need is the picture and I will be able to order my Christmas cards as well!
  3. I have been trying so many new recipes and here are some of favorites you should definitely try:
Pumpkin Dump Cake - ummmmm hello deliciousness!!!

STICKY BUNS!! I do have a bundt pan so I made it in a regular baking dish and these were so easy and so good!!

Crockpot Salsa Chicken - SOOOO GOOOOD!!!

Crockpot Chicken and dumplings - easy and delish!

Bacon cheeseburger macaroni - REALLY good homemade hamburger helper :)

 4.  My yukon is clean.  That deserves a spot on the top 10.  I put a B&BW deal in it and it smells so good.  Makes my happy.
5. My dogs are clean.  We shaved Cooper and then bathed both him and Oscar Sunday night.  Yall say a prayer for Cooper, I think we are nearing the end.  Right now they are smelling good and I am letting them lay with me :)
6.  We are having the "Brown Kids' BOO BASH" this Friday.  The kids wanted to have a party with their friends, so we are :).  We are going to play games and be wild in the back yard.  Should be fun!
7. Last Friday I had a favorite things party with my friends!  It was so much fun.  We each brought 5 of one favorite thing under $6, and then exchanged.  I got the idea off pinterest.  Tara got some fun pics...

8. Owen was Star of the week last week!!
9.  My company is working with an organization to send over 175,000 Christmas cards overseas to our troops.  So I contacted the Dean of our school and every class is going to make cards!!! I am so excited!!

10. Last, but not least....NICOLE AND AARON GOT ENGAGED!!!!  We are all so excited for another wedding!!!!

Well that was random and if you are still reading, bless your sweet heart!! I need to get back to work as my neck hurts from whipping it back and forth to make sure no one sees me blogging and not analyzing the Halloween holiday :)....happy Wednesday!

Little Letters

Dear Shane,

I am so proud of you!! I know this new job adventure makes you so happy and for me to see you this happy, it makes my heart burst.  Your support to our family is never ending and should be an example to many.  You are my most favorite man in the world and I have thoroughly enjoyed growing with you.  If we could look back at us 10 years ago, there would be so much we would tell us, but I would not change our lives for anything,  I know I don't stop enough most days and tell you how much I love you and appreciate you, but please know you hold my heart and make me happier than Owen when he found his iTouch :)

I LOVE YOU - Rachel

Dear Claire,

Daddy and I are so proud of you.  I know that most days we are telling you what you need to be doing and discussing how you should have done things, but please know that you are everything we could have ever hoped for in our daughter.  I am sorry that you are usually our "test child" as we are learning with you our oldest, and we are still not sure what we are supposed to be doing most days :).  As much as we are getting on to you for your sassiness and talking back, we are also happy to know that you have a backbone and quick wit that will get you very far one day.  I pray that I can be a better example to you and make sure you know that you are a beautiful little lady of the Lord and He thinks you are perfect.  You are such a dedicated little girl and we love to watch you dance and see you express yourself.  Please keep dedicated to school as well and continue your love for reading.  You are a very smart girl and we all acknowledge that, but Mama and Daddy are still smarter and will be until you have kids of your own...then we will forget everything and treat your kids as if we have never parented before :).  We love you so much and could not be more proud.  You are my best friend and I look forward to many years of laughing at these years :)...

Love you - Mama

Dear Owen,

Daddy and I are so proud of you.  You cast a spell on everyone in your life and we all cannot help but love on you.  I know that you sometimes get lost in the shuffle and you like to be independent, but please know that you are such an important member of our family.  Your comic relief, soft heart, and smile are what keeps us all smiling :).  I am sorry that I am always getting onto you in the mornings and making you move faster than you want, but as we discussed Mama and Daddy will go to jail if you do not go to school :).  I am also sorry that I have to get onto you for crying sometimes, but not being able to find your toothbrush does not warrant tears.  One day the ladies will love your emotion, but only Mama counts right now.  I don't tell you enough how much I love you (mostly because you get mad when I kiss you and leave lipstick on your face), but I love you more than any other girl will.  You are the most important little boy in my life and you have completely changed me.

Love you son - Mama

Dear Bree,

Daddy and I are so proud of you.  Your sweet face makes us all melt.  You have changed all of our lives so much and we thank you.  I am sorry I am not home as much with you as I was with the other two, but please know that I think about you all day.  To think that it was ever question whether or not we would have a third child makes me laugh. The Lord knew we needed you.  Now, please also know that Mama has her tubes tied and there will not be a fourth child.  So feel free to start sleeping in your own bed and allow Mama and Daddy to have their bed back :).  You can make a bad day great with just being in the room with me and I never want you to grow up. EVER.  You will forever be my baby and luckily for you, spoiled rotten.  Please remember that Claire and Owen will forever be your best friends and are looking out for you.  I look forward to teaching you that Jesus loves you and so does your family!!

Love you - Mama (PS - BED EVICTION NOTICE WILL BE COMING SOON)

Thanks for indulging me :)....Happy Thursday!

I have a HOT MAMA!

Happy Wednesday!!  As usual, I am a couple blogs behind, but so is the life of Rachel lately.

We had a GREAT weekend!!  We had our big meeting Friday afternoon, the kids had great parties at school and I did not get out of the office until 6:30!  We had our usual family pizza night Friday night and I was so happy the week was OVER.

Saturday night, we celebrated my gorgeous mom!  She turned 50 on October 4th and we had her party Saturday.  Tara put it all together and it turned out absolutely fabulous!  We all got dressed up, kids included!!  It was really funny taking the kids to Fayetteville, on Dickson street, on a Saturday night.  Even funnier, I was carrying a clutch....and a diaper bag :).

Words cannot express how much me, Shane and the kids love my mom.  We could not live without her being there for our kids.  Without her, I would not be able to go to work everyday.  She is such a blessing to us with her help and example and I seriously thank God for her EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!  So now lets get on with pretty pictures!

Owen fell asleep at the table - that boy is not quite ready for partying on the town :)!!

Have a great day!!  PS - My dress is Gianni Bini from Dillards - the girls' came from Dillards and Owen's vest, shirt and tie came from Crazy8.
