...one can tell when it is going to be one of those days. Brown children - wake up in the morning - CRANKY. Constantly hungry all day. For the older - would rather talk back even if it means a spanking, the younger - will throw everything in hand, ball, sippy cup, chicken nugget, WHATEVER at anything moving. There is a lot of crying and a large amount of giggling. These days are every once in awhile, inconsistent and usually when they know Mama is busy or tired.
August 7th, 2008 was one of these days.
Claire and Owen have been CRAZY today. It rained most of the day. Mom can come over in the morning, say a few words to Claire....and she can say "Great, one of these days, huh?", just by Claire's reactions. Owen is usually pretty easy going, but he seems to follow big sis's lead on these days. I was super busy with work, and the kids pretty much ran wild all afternoon after Mom left. By the time Shane got home, well that was it! Shane has been working late every night this week, so he is tired...and the fact he has been working late, well you know I am too. He walked in sat on the couch, eyes in slits. Me on the other couch, computer in lap, look at him, and two insane children are running the same route throughout the living room, kitchen and dining room, screaming. Shane knows that it is one of those days. In an effort to get them out of the house, we all go out to eat for dinner (I know you are thinking that was brave, but we went to Mad Pizza, they have an ARCADE!). They were pretty good, until after Shane brought them back from the arcade, without a random, stuffed animal from the "Claw". Claire now is in tears and we are back on our way home, no better, actually worse, from when we left.
We actually ended up getting home, changing them into their pajamas and loaded back in the van. We drove around until they both fell asleep (1.5 hours!!). Sounds crazy to some, but that was the most peaceful of my entire day and the kids were so calm (partly due to Madagascar playing on the DVD).
After I put them in pj's before we left, the kids seemed to get yet another surge of energy. I, at this point was pretty much as crazy as they were, so I got out the camera so that I can document one of these days and share it with you! Enjoy my MANY pics of chaos...=)
Claire decided to start dancing...
Owen too...
Now Owen wants to wrestle...
Back to dancing...
