Ballet Dreams from the Ultrasound room...

9 years ago next month, I was a young 22 year old, in the ultrasound room with Shane, Mom, and Becky waiting to find out if we are having a boy or girl.  Dr. H had a little trouble getting our baby to show us but we finally found out that "it" was in fact a girl!  A GIRL!  I was so excited, emotional and praising the Lord that was going to have a girl. One of the first things I thought to myself was "ohmygoodness she will be in dance and recitals!!".  I grew up dancing, on the pom squads and drill teams in school, and lived for it until I had to face reality and become an adult :).  I remember when I graduated high school I prayed that one day I would have a little girl that love dancing as much as I did.

Fast forward to now and my sweet Claire totally lived up to my dream from the ultrasound room. She LOVES dance and I know I am her mother, but she is really good too :). This year was her second year in Company (competition team) and we have had a blast.  We competed all winter (Jan-March) and All That Dance did so well.  We traveled to Tulsa and Kansas City and this summer we are going to Fort Walton for Nationals.  We have enjoyed spending so much time with our dance "family" and are so thankful for all their support and help.  Dance is definitely a commitment at this level (yes, as an 8 year old), but with the HUGE help from Nonna and Claire's dedication, this year has been a lot of fun and well worth it!

Saturday night was the end of the year Recital.  I was a cry baby all day and loved watching the girls!  I have so many dance pictures to share of this season so I decided to lump them all in one post.

So first are shots of the girls dancing on stage from our first competition.  It is hard to make out Claire sometimes, but you will get the point :)...

This dance is "I'm a Cowgirl - so cute!

This is the Ballet Line - This Little Light of Mine.  The first pic she is far left and the second is just a group shot...this dance was a tear jerker and beautiful!

Now this one was our favorite!  Claire, Lillie and Olivia did their very first trio this year.  It was a hip hop dance to "Lip Gloss" - Claire is in the middle :)

Hip Hop - Time to Win (hard to see her but she is there :)

This is the big Production number - Viva Las Vegas, she was a bunny :)

Here are a bunch of pics from competitions...

Last - pictures from the recital this weekend...I just love them!

And just because I felt like bawling again today, check out Claire's first recital picture :)...look at pregnant Rachel in the background :)
Have a great day!!!

sweet post! My daughter is in company {at a different studio}, and she LOVES it. I love it! Having been in gymnastics all my life, dance was definitely new to me. This will be our 3rd year, and can't wait to see how she does. Have fun at Nationals! :)

I danced for 19 years and adored every single second of it. All the morning practices, all the weekends, all the late nights. Loved.it.all. I danced from the age of 3 until my junior year of college and my mom never missed a competition. She will thank you for this one day:)

She is so adorable! Love some of her facial expressions in that lipstick one!

I would love to get Maycee Belle in something like dance. I never did it as a young girl and just did cheerleading in high school so I'm not sure what a good age is for her to start?
