The post that was supposed to have tons of pictures...

Hello!! Still pregnant Rachel here =)!! Went to the Dr yesterday, no changes and we press forward to next Friday!! Yes, in 8 days Bree will be here!! I am happy (besides the pregnant misery and the insane heat outside) that she is holding out at this point as my most favorite little boy in the world has a big day tomorrow and my favorite brown eyed beauty has a big week next week!! Time is just flying by and Friday will be here before we know it....

Now why the title? Well today was going to be a big day for Claire. Last night before bed, she came downstairs and declared to me and Shane that she was ready to have her ears pierced!! Shane and I both were shocked and TOTALLY did not believe her. Claire has talked about it, but if I ever seriously talk to her about it, she freaks out and tries to hide as if I am going to break out a potato, safety pin and ice cubes (that is how you do it yourself, right? =)) and pierce her ears myself. I told her we would see how she felt in the morning and she went off to bed.

This morning, she comes downstairs and says "Good Morning Mama, I want to get my ears pierced today!". I could not believe it! I then, again, explained to her exactly what it entailed, all the details, and she was still on! So I did get excited, called Mom and we got ready to go make it a fun day. I could tell she was nervous, but she was putting on a good front...

So long story short, we went to the Claire's at our mall and she marched right in. She picked out some cute flower earrings, got right up in the chair and was ready. Once I started filling out the paperwork, the saleslady started getting all the "tools" out and Claire was done. She jumped down out of the chair and said "She wanted her ears pierced, but was too scared". After some talking from both me and Mom, a couple meltdowns, even one from Owen as he did not like this tension, we were able to finally drag her out of the store, sans ears pierced. She wanted to have her ears pierced so bad, but the fear was just too much...so she wanted to stay, but did not want to actually do it. She threw a fit, begging to go back, but we knew that she was not ready yet. So instead, I let her go back after lunch and spend an obscene amount of money on jewelry, make up, purse etc. I had planned on taking some cute pictures, but this pregnant Mama was way to spent to even get some regular pictures. She is super excited about her new goodies and I think there are probably 100 layers of lip gloss on her right now (don't tell Daddy, but I think Owen has even joined in on some lip gloss =)). We are going to try again on her birthday in November, more time to prepare =)!

We have a big day tomorrow and I will for sure be doing a post all about Owen!!! I cannot believe my baby boy is going to be 3....

Look at my sidebar and vote on a few polls I added!!!!!!!!

I remember the same feelings, wanting it so badly but being so scared. I insisted on going to the bathroom and cried because I was so afraid.

I got my ears pierced when I was 9. I can understand her fear because she's younger.

I know Owen will have a fabulous birthday...can't wait to see pictures!

Oh goodness! My baby sister did the SAME thing and she sat on my Mom's lap to get them done... well, she also peed her pants. SO not only did my Mom have a wet lap but we were also 2 hours from home... thank goodness we were at a mall, but still--I'll never let me lil sis live that down!!! LOL

Happy Birthday Owen. I can't wait for his biker bash!!!! What are the plans for Friday? Do we just come to the hospital at 9am and wait for Miss Bree to come??? Or should I just come up at lunch time. I can't believe that you will be there for 2 day. I'll also will have to stop by on Saturday. I'm so excited. This will be my first newborn and hospital experience.

It was the summer of 5th grade before I got my earrings. Maybe if she could watch someone first it wouldn't be so bad. Do you need another hole in your ear???
