31 Days of Our Home: Day 4- Bree's pillow

So, I knew it was going to be hard to post every single day. I have to blog mostly at night and we went out tonight for Mom's birthday. I got home and remembered I needed to post! The kids went straight to bed and me and Bree went straight to mine (Shane is traveling). As I was washing my face, I was trying to think of what to post. I have not been home all day and had no idea what shape the house was in to take pics and post about a specific room. I went back in my room and saw Bree getting all the pillows off the bed so we could get in...except for her pillow.

Bree still sleeps with us. Yes, I know it is ridic and I am not sure that I really care. We are not going to sleep with her forever so it is not the end of the world honestly. One of the things that I love and makes me smile about how she sleeps with us is that she has a specific pillow. I have many decorative pillows on my bed, but there is one she calls hers. I have tried to give her a more comfy pillow, but she always gets this one. It is actually a super cute one and I probably would not prefer to sleep on it, but there is just something about it.

She calls it her "piwwo" and it is definitely her pillow :).

Night night :)...

31 Days of our Home - Day 3 - My Accessory Storage

If y'all know me at all, you know that I am jewelry hoarder and have way too much :).  With that said, so I don't lose my mind, I have to keep it as organized as possible! I am definitely no expert, but this works for me and it has worked for awhile now.  Here is how I keep my goodies together and easy to access...

Necklaces: I hang them in somewhat order by color on a metal hanger with hooks from Hobby Lobby.  Because I have so much, I have all my colored pieces together and then all my black, white, silver, gray and gold together...

I keep my earrings and bracelets in a jewelry holder that hangs in my closet - My earrings are usually all piled up in a dish in bathroom so this not always full :)...

If you saw my Scarf Tutorial Vlog on Suburban Strut, you saw my scarf rack. I keep all my scarves hanging on a coat rack :)...
So that is it!! Not too fancy but it works for me :)!
Hope you are enjoying our home so far!  Kind of copped out today, but I am tired and would have usually skipped today, but it is 31 days and I am going to do it :)!

31 Days or Our Home - Day 2 - Dining Room

Tonight, I take you through our Dining Room!  Our Dining Room is on the larger size and for a long time, I could not get it right.  As we grew our family, I was determined to utilize every square inch of our house and no space be wasted. So when I realized that we NEVER used our dining room except for holidays and big parties, I decided to make some changes.

I turned the table the opposite way and added a sitting area with a small couch and a couple chairs and ottoman.  This area is "my area" to read, have a glass of wine in peace or for all of us girls to hang when the guys are watching a game in the living room.

I decorated it match the rest of my house, but a bit different with shades of orange.  This is probably my favorite room in the house and I am excited to have pics to remember it :)  Enjoy...

I do have some fall decorations out just so yall know that I don't keep "Boo" signs out in my decor year round :)...

This room is also wear the dogs like to lay in the sun.  Cooper lays on a pillow in the floor and Oscar lays on this couch.  We are very emotional tonight because Oscar is at the vet with a bad back injury and we are not sure he is going to come back home :(.  Please add him to your prayers and my kids (well me and Shane too, we are a mess!) as we get through this and hopefully have our sweet pup home soon...
I love this tic tac toe board game and the kids are always playing...err throwing it across the house.  I also keep the latest yearbooks in that tray and Bree loves to look through them and sometimes rip out the binding :).  That is a really cute Halloween bucket too!

I love this candle holder and it is out year round. I love the whimsical touch to it!

Shane grandfather painted that top picture for us and I will keep it forever!

And of course no room in my house is complete without a picture removed from the frame and "drawn on" by Bree :).

Holler if you have any questions or want to know where something is from!

31 Days of Our Home

I am joining in on the Nester's 31 Day Blogging Challenge. I am going to blog about our home for the next 31 days, everyday. I absolutely love our home and want to always have these posts to remember how we lived with a house full of kiddos :). It will be a tour of every room in our house and all my fall decor.  I am working on a few big projects so not only will this be a way to post about them, but also keep my booty in check to get it all done :). So.....

Welcome to our home!

We started building this home in 2005 and we were only a family of three.  Claire was just over a year when we finally moved in March 2006.  We picked out everything starting from the lot and floor plan.  We live in a culdesac, across the street from my mom and step dad (and stepbrother Jace).

I know, y'all are probably all shocked that I live across the street from my Mom and I love it, but it really is such a blessing. We have a great relationship and the kids love running across the street to Nonna and Poppy's.  Mom does watch Bree for me and get the kids from school so this is the perfect scenario.

My most favorite things about the exterior of our house is the dark cherry shutters and the stained driveway. I love the colors of my house and think they look the best when decorated for Fall.

The shrubs need trimming, but I am still loving my fall stuff out!
(had to remove some bushes or whatever from this flower bed and will not replace until Spring)

Love my door!  It is huge and needs some TLC - but something about the marks and scratches I love. This door has been "Booed", had many wreaths and had a dog or few scratch it :)
Y'all go join the Nester too!!  Many blogs are joining and should be a fun month!!!
