Owen is full of it these days. He is hitting all these different stages of becoming independent, emotional, even more mischievous, but potty trained not being one of them. Yes, you read that, he is almost 4 and we are still fighting that battle. He could care less and we are about to pull our hair out. It really is just going to take a week of us staying home, tag teaming him and making him do it, but for real, who in the world has time for that??? We have no choice at this point as there will be no school in the fall (LORD HELP ME!!!) if he is not trained soon...so we are going to have to get a move on!! But on a much BETTER note, here are some Owen funnies in the last few days that I don't want to forget...(some of these have been on fb so some of you have already read these)...
Owen has a line on his upper lip, just below his nose. Why? He burned himself on a cupcake pan :)...I pulled the pans out of the oven and just as I sat them on the counter, he walks in the kitchen, I hear "mmmm those smell good" and look over to see him getting as close as possible to the pan to smell and burning himself...
Last night, the kids were supposed to be in bed. Nobody minds in this house anymore, so no surprise when Owen was back at the stairs, complaining about something. When I told him to go back to bed and he tells me "Mama, I was talking to Daddy!!" (very sternly, his new thing when someone does not give him the answer he wants, he says he was talking to the other). So I jump up as I have had it and am going up the stairs to take care of this issue. Shane says, "Don't beat him!" as if I ever spank my kids :) and as I am about to give Shane some smart line back, Owen peeks around the corner from upstairs (he had high tailed it upstairs when he saw me coming) and says "Yeah Mom, don't beat him!"....:)
We have a "pet frog" that lives in our back yard and comes out every night when we turn the porch light on. We named him Bill Pickles. I really can't stand frogs, but he is kind of cute, and he is doing no harm. Well, Claire LOVES him and is so excited every night when we see him. Owen does not like Bill Pickles. We did not know this until one night, I went outside to tell the kids to come in and I catch Owen with a plastic hammer about to smash Bill Pickles...seriously!!!!!!! I grab him and ask him what in the world he is doing? He starts crying "I don't wike Bill Pickles!! Smash him Mama, smash him like a bug!!!" So now I have a frog killing almost 4 year old that still poops on himself....not the best combo!! I will say that he has come to grips with the fact that Bill is a nice frog and he can just stay away from him...Claire was practically traumatized that Owen was going to kill Bill!
That is all for now!! Next post more Beach pictures!!!!!!!

I just heard from someone that they sell these "paper targets" that float in the toilet and apparently the boys like to "take aim" and "fire" at them because it's such a "boy" thing to do. Have you heard of those or tried them? Good luck!
It took s little longer to potty train my brother. He will get it eventually!
His little sayings are hilarious! I bet that frog had no idea what was about to hit him(pun intended). :)
My youngest was a few months shy of 4 yo and had no interest whatsoever in potty training. I finally decided to dedicate a week to it where I would stay home with him and get it done. It took one day with I believe one accident and that was it. I put the underwear on him and we never went back. He didn't even need to wear pull ups at night after maybe a week. Good luck. I have had to potty train THREE boys! ;)
