Future Sugar Plum Fairy??

Yes, two posts in one night (go below and read the last one first, it was a doozie!!), we have been busy!!

Today, Tara and I took Claire to the local presentation of "The Nutcracker". Claire's dance academy puts it on every year and this was the first time for us to go. She has been a little disinterested in dance lately and that kills me. I lived for dance growing up and of course I want the same for her. She has not been feeling great lately (again read below=)) and I think that is what is causing our issue, so I was hoping this would perk her interest. I LOVE this show and it always brings tears to my eyes, I know I am a dork. I would love it so much for Claire to be in it one day, I think I would lose my mind and cry my eyes out the entire time!!! Why as Mamas, is our first instinct is to cry????

So, today I had a goal and I think it worked. She loved the show and the best part (after much persuasion and bribery from me and T, she was a little hesitant) she went up to take a picture with her two favorite ballerinas from the show. We will see tomorrow morning (pending that the roads are clear, we are expecting snow tonight) if she has any extra pep in her step on our way to dance. We also have a brand new Candy Cane tutu to wear!!

Here are some pictures from our afternoon (Tara just got a new camera, these are AWESOME)...

I love this picture...except she looks way too old =)!
Me and Claire waiting for the show to start......with her Ballerina Doll Souvenir!Just us girls!!
...with the Sugar Plum Fairy! This was her favorite because she wore purple!...with the Snow Queen, Ms. Brittany! She is a teacher at Claire's Dance Academy and I used to work with her Mom. She is so talented, gorgeous and sweet! She helped us get Claire up there to take a picture.Claire with her real life "Fairy Aunt Tara" =)...why? Because she always "magically" has a gift for her =)!And while we are testing out the new camera, we have to use it on our resident "Cheese Master", O!!Have a good week!!!!

How precious! What a fun thing to do... Just you girls! I would love for Emma Kate to be a ballerina someday; but judging off her momma's "ballerina capabilites" she might be doomed! Ha! We will give it a try anyways! :)

I love the Nutcracker! I danced in it when I was younger (around 11) and I LOVED it. I took ballet until I was a junior in high school. I will be forcing my girls into dance within the next few years. I really hope at least one of them likes it!

Your new camera must be amazing! Great shots, I was the same way when I took the Drama Queen to her first ballet!

I have to tell my story. After mom took me to see the Houston Ballet put on the Nutcracker when I was Claire's age, I immediately told my mom that I wanted to be a ballerina. That next week, I was enrolled in dance at Rose Thayer Academy. So, The Nutcracker is what got me interested and then one day I was actually dancing in the Nutcracker with Ballet Westside. Awe, great memories. I hope Claire enjoys dance as much as I did. By my senior year, I had a key to the dance studio so I could go up there and practice every chance of free time I got.

I can't wait to see little Claire's dance recitals. They are going to be so fun!

I LOVE the Nutcracker, too!!! I wish I could have seen it! Wow, Brittany is so old - I haven't seen her in years!! That's so great that Claire got pictures with them; she will remember that forever!!! My aunt and dad took me to that play when I was little and to this day I love it!!
