A Christmas Miracle!!

Sorry I have not been a great blogger lately! Tons of things have been going on, but we have also not had some great days too =(.

We had to take Claire to the Dr yesterday. If you read the posts below, she has not been feeling real well. I have been watching her close and monitoring how she has been feeling. Well she slept in her new tent and sleeping bag Tuesday night in the living room. She woke Wednesday morning and was crying that her legs hurt and she could not get up. She said she woke up in the middle of the night that way. Shane and I figured that she just had sore legs from sleeping in the floor funny. I gave her Motrin and there was no way she was going to miss school, Wednesday was their Christmas Party, Polar Express Pajama Party!! She was still limping around when we got to school, but she was fine when I picked her up. That night she started crying about it again right before she went to bed. She slept all night, but woke up yesterday morning and was in ALOT of pain. She could not even walk downstairs. Then I was concerned.

It had been just in her upper legs or thighs before, but now it had moved all up and down her legs and in her neck. Yes, her neck and she was now running a fever. So by the time Mom arrived, I had called the Dr and they insisted that I bring her in that morning. We were all thinking and worried about the same thing, Meningitis. Shane, Tara and I all started researching the Internet learning everything we could about it, Claire was just laying on the couch in pain and crying. I was a wreck, but I did not want her to see me that way. I needed to throw some clothes on to take her to the Dr. I went in my room and I just prayed and prayed and prayed, and cried and cried and cried that she would be okay. Also, I prayed that He would give me the strength for her today because we all knew that she would have to undergo rough tests to test for it. I prayed so hard for her to be healed and that we were all just over reacting. I felt better that I prayed. I came out to get Claire to go and I am not exaggerating, she walked to me and said "Mama I am feeling better!!". Mom said that her fever broke and she just now said that she did not hurt anymore...WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was soooooooo thankful!! I told Claire she was my Christmas Miracle!!!

By the time we got to the Dr's office, Shane came too, the only thing that hurt was her ankles and she had a red cheeks. The Dr. drew some blood and told us that she probably had Viral Arthritis. The blood tests came back and he was right. She has some virus that is giving her arthritis in her legs. She is only on Motrin and as of right now she is dancing to Jingle Bells in the living room. She feels much better today, as long as she is on Motrin. We know when it has been 6 hours as she sits down immediately and is in pain. Unfortunately, this will probably last for weeks.

So, other than that, we have been busy and I have some pictures! Monday night, we had our Christmas with my Dad and Brandi, my step mom. They brought the kids tons of toys, including the tents and sleeping bags! They also bought us Rock Band...I have a sore throat for all the singing!! Tara, Nicole and I make a BADA** Band!! Look forward to those pictures soon =).Owen was asleep =)Now he's awake and not happy!
Then here are a few pictures of Claire at her school party Wednesday! She got both her teachers Snow Globes for Christmas =)!
Finally before we go - I have to give you an Owen funny =)! Tuesday night, I went out with the girls for our little Christmas get together. Shane had the kids. Shane was making kids scrambled eggs (their favorite). While he was making them, Claire says "Daddy, one of the dogs threw up!". Shane turned around to see Claire cleaning it up. He started to look around and one of the dogs had thrown up all over the house!! He looked closer and it was raw egg. He turned back to the kitchen and an empty thing of eggs had been placed in the sink and Owen was sitting at the table ready to eat. He then realized that Owen had gotten the other thing of eggs out of the fridge and cracked them like daddy, just all over the house! I am soooooooo glad I was not home =)!
Tonight we are going out to eat and then to the Fayetteville Lights of the Ozarks on the Square to take pictures...have a good night!!

Poor Claire! I'm a WebMD freak and when you said something about Meningitis that sort of freaked me out. I'm glad she's ok. I've never heard of a virus that caused temporary arthritis! Wicked scary!!!
