Try this and that

WOOOHOOO it's Friday!!!  I am so happy it is Friday, I almost forgot I feel terrible with a cold. Almost.  It should be a nice relaxing weekend of football, friends and family time and I am REALLY looking forward to it.

I have been trying new recipes lately from Pinterest and the Crockpot Girls that I want to share.  I am also planning on cooking a few others that I think will be delicious.

Last week I cooked Chicken Enchilada Pasta and it was DELICIOUS!!!  I loved it even more the next day!  Seriously, if yall love Mexican, it is a keeper!!
Last night we had Crockpot French Dip Subs. They were soooooo good and the house smelled AWESOME!  Here is the recipe:

CROCKPOT FRENCH DIP SUBS
Chuck Roast (don't know what size, it cost me $12)
Can of Beer
Can Beef Broth
Packet of Onion Soup mix

Put all in Crockpot and cook on low ALL DAY. Serve on toasted hoagies with mozzeralla cheese.

So EASY and SO GOOD!!

Tomorrow night, we are having mom and Jake and the Williamsons over to watch the Hog game so I am making Pulled Pork Sandwiches and here is the recipe I am using:

CROCKPUT PULLED PORK SANDWICHES
Pork Loin (agian not sure how big, it looks like it will completely fill my crock pot)
Can of Cranberry sauce
Bottle of BBQ sauce

Put all in a crockpot all day and pull apart before eating.

I will let yall know if it turns out!

I found this on Pinterest and made it last week for the girls' sleepover. They are Oreo Bars made like Rice Krispie treasts, just with crushed Oreos!! YUMMO!! Mine did not look like this as I did not crush mine as fine, but they were still good!!

Other randoms...

I bought this lotion the other day at Bath and Body Works, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin.  Now, I am not always keen on all smelly lotions but this one is acutally very light and gives a really warm smell.  I like the body cream best from there...

Bought these for Claire this morning on zulily!  They have to wear tennis shoes to school and I am always looking for new, different ones. These are even navy, her school colors!  I may or may not have bought two pairs for Claire and a pair for Bree :).

Owen got these :)!! Great prices!!

Okay - I guess that is all my rambling...have a great weekend and unless your football team is New Mexico, good luck!! :))))  GO HOGS!!!

Words of Wisdom Wednesday - Fall

I don't know about where yall live, but it has turned Fall around here.  I am sure mother nature will give us one more sweat fest before Autumn begins, but I am sooooooo excited to feel this crispness in the air right now.  My Words of Wisdom this week are dedicated to the Fall Season...my two cents about it begins......wait for it....now!

1.  In my opinion, Fall is the best time of year for fashion.  I love the transition time right now when you can still wear tank tops and dresses with cardigans and boots or Toms. I am kind of addicted to planning outfits.  Now that I go to work everyday, I seriously get excited every morning when I get dressed...as long as the laundry is done and I can physically walk in my closet.  I hear many women complaining about the transition time and I never get it.  Here are my top 4 tips for dressing right now:
  • CARDIGANS!  I know all yall own them and love them, but now is the best time to wear them.  I can take a plain dress or top, add a cardi and necklaces and VOILA!  Perfect fall transition outfit.  Cardis are great for me as they are warm on the cool mornings and in the cold office.  I have even worn them over a cute tshirt (razorback of course :)) and with comfy jeans and Toms and the cardi made the outfit.  One of the best things about a cardigan is that covers the lovely muffin top area...just sayin :)
  • SKINNIES!! Don't believe the myth that skinny jeans are only for skinny girls. Now that does not mean to squeeze yourself in a pair.  Buy a pair that fits and wear them with tunics (with a cardigan too!) and boots, or wedges, or even Toms or Converse.  I like skinny jeans because I don't wear short or fitted tops (at least around the waist). So if I wear a big top, skinnies will slim me on the bottom half.  You know all those silly dresses that are adorable but WAY too short?  Throw it over a pair of skinny jeans, SUPER CUTE!  Today I am wearing a pair of skinnies with a big top and cardi, necklaces, a belt and my red Toms wedges.  This pretty much sums up my fall fave outfit as I can wear jeans (dressed up) to work.  I love me some Long and Leans and Curvy jeans from Gap too....
  • FALL COLORS!  I L O V E  the colors of Fall.  Take advantage of this time of year and wear the browns, mauves, purples, reds, oranges, greens etc. Add a scarf to the above outfit in any of these colors and it makes it pop.  Whether it is my nails, shoes, a scarf, necklace or bangle, I always have a pop of color of this season on to amp it up!
  • DRESSES! DO NOT put away your summer dresses (well, the linen sundresses, and the beach dresses, yes)!  I am still wearing my solid maxi dresses and cotton short dresses with boots or flats and cardis.  Once again, add a scarf or a warm belt and you will totally transform that same dress you wore with flip flops into a warm fall outfit.
  • Time to quit wearing summer clothes AS SUMMER CLOTHES!!!  I know it still gets warm in the afternoons, but I cannot stand wearing things out of season.  Since I have explained how you can transform your current wardrobe, there is no need to still see summer outfits after Labor Day, right ? :)  This does NOT mean not to wear white.  I think white jeans can even still be pulled off after Labor Day when done right (tunic, flats, scarf  etc).
Confession - I feel silly putting up pictures of myself.  I would love to do more posts about this stuff and show more of my "outfits of the day" but I feel weird.  Thoughts? Interests?

2.  Get your house smelling good!! I went last night and stocked up on wallflowers at B&BW and my house smells wonderful!! Trust me, the smell of pumpkins, apples and leaves will even hypnotize your husband into keeping the house clean!!  My favorite scents are Autumn, Leaves, Fireside, and Acorn and Fig.  I put Marshmallow Fireside in the girls' rooms and it smells like toasted marshmallows!!  My other favorite smells can be found at WM in the Febreeze section!! Check out the pumpkin ones and autumn ones..mmmmmmm!  I go through many bottles of the air effects!!

3. Meal Planning - Ever since I started my Home Organization Binder, I have been planning meals.  Doing that, it has inspired me to look for more recipes and ideas.  With Fall pretty much here and us being so busy after school and work, I am busting out my crockpot and utilizing the Crockpot Girls on Facebook.  Go like them and you will see tons of recipes on their pictures.  Nothing says Fall to me more than coming home to a great, warm meal in the crockpot waiting on us!!
4. Fall clothing for kids! Go to facebook right now and like the following:

Lolly Wolly Doodle
A&C Posh Designs
Southern Tots
If You Say Sew

These are just a few of the places I have ordered from or plan to this week.  Such great deals and CUTE stuff!!!!  Thinking about doing some childrens' clothing posts?? Interested?  Don't feel silly putting up pictures of my monkeys :)

5.  Stop and be grateful.  Right now we are all in the busiest time of year with school, work, extra curricular activities and just life.  It is real easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle and before you know it is Christmas!! I am challenging myself and I challenge you, pretend like every day is Thanksgiving this Fall and thank the Lord for that day and how He has blessed you.  Today is your only September 7th, 2011 you will ever have, be thankful for it :).  Today I am thankful that this sweet girl did her homework at my office last night, after dance, while Mama finished up her work :) And I am thankful for these two dressed alike for picture day today :)....and I am thankful for Bree too but no new pics of her since yesterday :)

So there you have it!!!  What did I miss? Any other words of wisdom for the Fall? :)

Long weekend...we'll take it!

Happy Tuesday!!! Sooooo happy it is Tuesday!!  It was a rough morning that included sleeping in, forgetting backpacks and a certain 2nd grader having a complete meltdown.  Love the long weekends, but getting back into the swing of things is not always easy...but we did have a GREAT weekend!!

Friday night, I let Claire have her two besties from dance spend the night (we missed our other bestie Emma!).  The girls played with their hair, did make up, played dress up, carried Bree around, and fought with Owen.  A perfect night for a group of 7 year olds :)...

Saturday was the first HOG GAME!!  We got two more season tickets this year so we could take the kids to a couple games.  We tailgated most of the day with the Lockridge's and Mom and Jake.  It was HOT, but our Razorbacks won, we were decked out in fun red gear,  and the kids had fun!  Big shout out to mom and Jake for taking Bree after we tailgated so she would not have to go to the game :)...

Sunday, we went out to the cabin.  It was BEAUTIFUL outside!  We rode four wheelers and "roughed it".  Shane and I walked out to his deer stand at one point.  When we got back , I noticed a few teeny tiny bugs crawling on my arm.  I asked Shane to look at them to see if they were ticks...they were seed ticks. Long story short, I was covered in seed ticks (on my jeans and arms)!!! Shane had some too.  So we had to take showers (thank the Lord they have plumbing out there) and change into the only clothes out there, papa's camou!!!  It was really funny, outside of MANY bugs all over me!!!!!  The kids got so filthy and had a blast...

Yesterday was just an easy day of laying around watching a How I Met Your Mother marathon, grocery boot shopping, chili-making, closet cleaning and relaxing.

Totally feels like Fall now!!!!  Loving it....

Our Accent Vlogs!

OKAY!  So I jumped on accent vlog bandwagon!!  Jenna started it and it is so funny and actually fun!  I made Shane do it too because his accent is much thicker than mine. I grew up here in Arkansas and he grew up in Southeast Texas.  I did mine today at lunch and we recorded his the other night and you will get to see some of the chaos :)...

Here is what you do:  You record yourself saying the following words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught

And answer these questions:

•What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?

•What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?

•What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?

•What do you call gym shoes?

•What do you say to address a group of people?

•What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?

•What do you call your grandparents?

•What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?

•What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?

•What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

So we did...enjoy...I guess :)

Nothing like some good ole embarassment on the blog!!!
